You will learn throws and take-downs, Joint Locks and Escorts, Kicks and Strikes, Pressure Points and Motor Nerve Points.

Ju Jitsu can be Traditional, Modern, Self Defence or directed more towards Competition. Although they all have their differences, there is a large area of common ground too.

The best thing you can do is find local clubs, go along watch and talk to the Instructors to find a style to suit your specific needs.

Anyone can do Ju Jitsu, regardless of age, size or gender. As everyone is slightly different in terms of height, reach, weight, strength and general athletic ability, techniques sometimes have to be varied to suit the individual.

You do not need to be in great shape to start Ju Jitsu, however, you will find that your condition will improve considerably as you progress through the system.

Learning good Ju Jitsu technique enables you to be incredibly effective with the use of leverage. The knowledge and use of pressure points gives you super confidence in knowing you can really exploit some of the weaknesses of the Human body.
